It was such a pleasure knowing Janet and working with her in Croydon. Her enthusiasm for cinema, culture and our community was always wonderful to be around. She will be much missed.

As Croydon's Cabinet member for Culture and Communities, I want to express our sadness at the loss of Janet and our gratitude to her for her passion, partnership, creativity and dedication to supporting culture in Croydon. Janet played an important role connecting the David Lean Cinema into our London Borough of Culture and has been a great partner in the legacy of that year. Janet will be much missed by colleagues within the Council's Culture team and no doubt at the David Lean Cinema and the wider Croydon community. I'm sure her legacy, and spirit of collaboration and solidarity will live on.
